Comfortably Wild
Nikos Menoudarakos

PHOTOGRAPHY/ LIVE PHOTO SHOOT

FOKIANOU ART SPACE, ATHENS, GREECE, 5-6 JUNE 2021, 12:00-16:00

“Comfortably Wild” is a photography slideshow - an ongoing project, about an existing, real world that is unknown to many of us. It is about the  (r)evolution of the Athenian queer scene and society from 2016 until today, a “miracle” between raw reality and fantasy.

This project is about people who live on the limits of reality, protagonists whose unusual beauty was captured alive and shining.

Part of this selection was exhibited in the exhibition Head On Photo Festival 2020, in Sydney.

During the exhibition, the artist will reveal his artistic process by allowing the audience to witness two photographic sessions, giving them the opportunity to watch him and his subjects in creative action.

Nikos Menoudarakos  was born in Athens in 1980. He studied Business Administration and  got started with photography as a hobby in 2014 at Orama Photography Studies. Mainly interested in documentary photography/videography of real people and their stories, he has already participated in exhibitions and has been featured in several publications in Greece. Nikos is also a contributor in both “Athens Voice” free press and “Popaganda.gr”.

In 2017, he won the 1st prize in “Public Moments Awards in Greece” in the category of the Sports series.

In 2020, one part of the project "Comfortably Wild" was selected and exhibited in the exhibition Head On Photo Festival 2020, in Sydney.

This year, he has been selected in the digital projections of Athens Photo World in SNFCC and Athens Technopoly with the project "The Fight Club".
