My search for a gender identity outside binary opposites was at first intuitive, then intellectual.
Using a performative, intimate and militant approach, I photograph my body and close friends without losing sight of the histories of their bodies and the western representations that shape them.
This lets me highlight the disenchantment of women’s bodies to render visible them as mystical flesh, rather than artificially idealized, sexualized objects. The light, space and bodies interact to depict a journey — that of a struggle to exist.
